KIT Days Recording

This window, which stands for "Keep-in-Touch" days, enables the employee to input days worked while on Maternity or Adoption Leave without bringing the period of leave to an end.

Rules and Guidelines

  • This only applies to Statutory Maternity or Adoption Pay - not ShPP.
  • An employee whilst on SMP/SAP could be asked to attend work by their employer, during their period of absence, for up to 10 days.
  • The dates entered must be after the start date and before the end date of the Maternity/Adoption pay period.
  • The payment for KIT days does not preclude the employee from receiving payment of Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) for the same day/week.

  • If the employee exceeds the allowance of 10 days, the week in which the 11st day occurs will no longer be qualified for Maternity or Adoption Leave.
  • This is for record purposes only; the payment for such dates will depend on the agreement between the employee and the employer.
